Luminous Mysteries

Contemplate the public ministry of Jesus, the light who reveals the Father and gives Himself to us.

THE FIRST LUMINOUS MYSTERY

The Baptism of Jesus

Matthew 3:13–17

Jesus enters the waters of the Jordan. Recall that Christian life begins with a gift of grace, and ask to live more fully as a child of God.

For reflection: Living our baptism
THE SECOND LUMINOUS MYSTERY

The Wedding at Cana

John 2:1–12

Mary directs the servants to Jesus. Bring Him the needs you cannot solve alone, and listen for the next faithful action you can take.

For reflection: Trust in Jesus
THE THIRD LUMINOUS MYSTERY

The Proclamation of the Kingdom

Mark 1:14–15

Jesus calls people to repent and believe the Good News. Ask where you need a fresh beginning, and welcome the mercy that leads to a changed life.

For reflection: Conversion
THE FOURTH LUMINOUS MYSTERY

The Transfiguration

Luke 9:28–36

The disciples glimpse the glory of Jesus and are told to listen to Him. Make space for silence, allowing His words to shape your hopes and choices.

For reflection: Attention to Christ
THE FIFTH LUMINOUS MYSTERY

The Institution of the Eucharist

Luke 22:14–20

At the Last Supper, Jesus gives Himself to His disciples. Give thanks for His enduring presence and ask for a heart that receives His gift with reverence.

For reflection: Love of the Eucharist

These reflections were written for this prayer guide. Scripture references are provided for further reading. The Assumption and Coronation draw on Catholic doctrine and scriptural imagery.
